Old Creek founder, Wade Frost, established  the  brand  in 2022 with a vision to provide reliable and quality  equipment for Metal Detectorists and Prospectors.  Being an avid detectorist for many years,  I realized  after breaking  my  shovel in frozen ground, that there were no quality,  Canadian produced alternatives for an extreme duty shovel suitable for the needs of the  hobby.   As a journeyman machinist with over  25 years of  manufacturing, materials selection  and  purchasing  experience,  I set out to design and manufacture my own line that was proudly made in Canada.

Each Old Creek HD series shovel  was meticulously designed using  a proprietary material  choice similar to AR500  that is 2X stronger and 2X harder  than competitor products using  AISI 4130 heat treated steel.  This hardness allows Old Creek shovels to take a razer sharp edge  and  offer exceptional impact, abrasion resistance and durability  in the harshest of  digging environments.

Each shovel is hand crafted by myself with the assistance of my sons. When you purchase an Old Creek shovel, you are getting more than just a quality tool.
